Starting with its luxury brand Anantara, Anantara Jebel Dhanna Villas is scheduled to open in 2019 with 60 keys, along the coastal area of the Al Gharbia region in Abu Dhabi, close to the ferry departure point for Sir Bani Yas Island. Slated to welcome its first guests in 2020, the 290-key Anantara Dubai Creek Hotel is under development in Culture Village in Dubai, a new world-class destination. Also in the UAE, the 225-key Anantara Mina Al Arab Ras Al Khaimah Resort will be Minor Hotel’s first property in Ras Al Khaimah when it opens in 2020. Announced at the end of 2016 Anantara Jeddah Resort will be the brand’s debut in Saudi Arabia when it opens in 2020. The new resort will offer 226 guest rooms and 102 two to five-bedroom villas.

In the UAE the 230-key Avani Jebel Dhanna Hotel in Abu Dhabi will open in 2019. Also in the UAE and announced earlier this year are the 372-key Avani Ibn Battuta Dubai Hotel opening in 2019 and the 225-key Avani Al Marjan Island Ras Al Khaimah Resort scheduled to open in 2020.

Oaks Hotels & Resorts, one of the leading providers of serviced apartments in Australasia and UAE, which Minor Hotels took over ownership of in 2011, currently includes 56 properties. Minor Hotels recently announced the forthcoming Oaks Al Najada Hotel in Doha, the brand’s first property in Qatar, schedule to open in April 2018. The property will offer 100 serviced apartments with minimalist interiors and an Arabian artistic touch, in addition to a range of premier onsite facilities including an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness centre, alfresco dining, a pool bar and 24hr room service. This will be the third Oaks in the Middle East, joining properties in Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the UAE.

Following its acquisition of Tivoli Hotels & Resorts in February 2016, Minor Hotels has refurbished a number of the brand’s key properties during 2017 representing significant investment in the brand. In October, the brand expanded into the Middle East with Souq Waqif Boutique Hotels by Tivoli joining the portfolio in Doha, the Qatari capital. Two new-build Tivoli hotels were also announced late last year in Doha.

Launching in April 2018, Tivoli Al Najada Doha Hotel is in the final stages of development. Facilities in the five-storey property will include 151 guest rooms and suites, a selection of dining options, a fitness centre, a swimming pool and a business centre. The hotel sits within a new development surrounding a large open piazza with cafes, restaurants and shops, with the hotel offering alfresco dining on the terrace. The hotel will also offer an impressive ballroom, designed to host social occasions and corporate meetings and events, with a capacity of 250 guests.
