Sharjah International Airport achieved a 3.29 per cent growth in passenger traffic during the first nine months of 2017. The total number of passengers that passed through Sharjah International Airport in the first nine months of 2017 grew to 8.611 million passengers, up from 8.336 million during the corresponding period last year.
More tourists from the UAE’s neighbouring GCC countries have been visiting the emirate, proving anew the government’s successful efforts to position Sharjah as a prime regional destination for families.
The airport handled 3.118 million passengers in the third quarter of 2017, a 4.08 per cent increase compared with the 2.996 million passengers reported during the third quarter of 2016.
