Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa in Oman has launched the ultimate cycling experience with former pro Andreas Klöden, one of Germany’s most successful professional cyclists.
 

Nestled between the dramatic backdrop of rugged mountains and the pristine waters of the Omani Gulf, Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa is a fully integrated destination resort spread across two hotel wings, Al Waha and Al Bandar.

It is the perfect location for the  Ultimate Pro Cycling Experience Muscat, which takes place from December 7 to 10, with rolling hills and inclines along scenic roads through the majestic Al Hajar Mountains combined with stunning views of the Gulf of Oman. A paradise for road cyclists, the resort offers cyclists a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spend three days cycling hundreds of kilometres tackling Oman’s renowned climbs with the 2000 Olympic Games bronze medallist. Klöden’s other major achievements include placing second at the 2004 and 2006 Tour de France.

During the weekend, riders will be treated like pros and undergo pre-ride morning briefings complete with route guides. Post-ride, guests can take advantage of the resort’s spa and leisure facilities, with a 60-minute recovery massage at CHI, The Spa included in the package, before sitting down to dinner with Klöden.

Just a 20-minute drive from downtown Muscat and 45-minutes from Muscat International Airport, Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa is the perfect place to train alongside the German Olympian.

The resort also provides a luxurious retreat with access to a total of 19 bars and restaurants offering a variety of international cuisine, the indulgent CHI, The Spa, six temperature-controlled swimming pools, Oman’s only 500m lazy river, four tennis courts, as well as a splash pad, mini-golf, Adventure Zone and Cool Zone Kids’ Club for cyclists travelling with families.
