Hong Kong Airlines implemented self-services options in six areas of a passengers’ airport journey, including check-in, bags ready-to-go, document check, flight re-booking, self-boarding and bag recovery at the Hong Kong International Airport.

On top of a series of self-services implementations, Hong Kong Airlines launched “Sweeten You Up” service in 2015, to enhance inflight travel experience by offering newlyweds or couples celebrating their anniversaries, birthday and child passengers a sweet and enjoyable journey in the sky. Happy Angels are assigned in all flights to provide extra care to kids, ensuring a carefree journey for parents. Additionally, the ‘Musical instrument protection’ service as well as ‘Free bicycle baggage allowance’ dedicated to passengers who travel to and from Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Japan and Hainan to encourage green travel.

The first and major Hong Kong-based carrier to use Mid Field Concourse (MCF) at the Hong Kong International Airport, Hong Kong Airlines will soon launch its new VIP lounge at the new concourse. Currently, about 99 per cent of Hong Kong Airlines’ flights including both departure and arrival use MFC, enabling passengers to enjoy the convenience of the airbridge. In addition to the acquisition of IATA’s GOLD Certificate, the company has been presented various awards at HKIA Airport Safety Recognition Scheme for the three consecutive years. Two prestigious awards, namely Customer Service Excellence Award 2016 “Grand Award – Gold Award” and Hong Kong Top Service Brand Award, highlight ongoing commitment towards service optimization.
