OTM pulls in 10,000 visitors

Over10,000 travel trade visitors attended the OTM show in Mumbai, India, in addition to more than 500 buyers from travel trade and corporate sectors who had qualified for special hosting privileges. International buyers from countries like Kuwait, New Zealand, Philippines, Russia and Thailand were also extended similar hosting hospitality.

The UAE Ministry of Economy organised a national Visit UAE pavilion for the second year in a row, with participation from Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, Sharjah and airlines, hotels, tour companies from the emirates. The delegation was led by  Dr Ahmed Albanna who says, “OTM is a specialised tourism centric show where it concentrates on the travel and tourism industry as a whole. Looking at the OTM exhibition and the importance of the show, we participated in the exhibition last year as well. We look forward to participate in OTM’s future edition, where we will continue to showcase the tourism products and potential of the UAE.”

First-time participants at OTM like Bahrain, Cambodia, Cyprus, Greece, Ho Chi Minh City provided variety of experiences to the valued travel trade partners and Indian travellers.

 “This is our second participation at OTM and also as a Focus Country. This exhibition is a key platform for us to work closely with our travel partners from India and raise more awareness on our destination UAE. Through our participation at OTM, we aim to showcase the key attractions of UAE. OTM has provided a great platform for participating countries to interact and explore the trends in the tourism industry.”

Abdullah Saleh Al Hammadi, director, Ministry’s Tourism Department, UAE, says, “OTM 2017 is an important platform for Dubai to showcase all that Dubai has to offer to the Indian market. India is the number one source market for visitors to Dubai and this platform helps us attract even more visitors from this market."
