Retaj signs for 16 Saudi hotels

Retaj Hotels & Hospitality has signed a strategic partnership agreement to manage 16 hotels in Saudi Arabia over the next five years.

The agreement was signed between Sheikh Mohammed Ibrahim Al Aboud, chairman of Ibrahim Al Aboud Company and Dr Mohammed Bin Johar Al Mohammad, vice-chairman and managing director of Retaj Group earlier this year.

At the signing ceremony, Dr Johar confirmed that Retaj Group has plans to continue to expand its investment projects inside and outside of Qatar, especially in the hospitality sector. The signing of 16 hotels in Saudi Arabia speaks volumes about the group's commitment to the family tourism sector, commented the vice-chairman and managing director.

The signing of the management agreement with Ibrahim Al Aboud Company comes in the wake of a change in Retaj’s strategy in the last two years, focusing on expansion and diversification in domestic and foreign markets, including Turkey, Comoros, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Djibouti and Bahrain. “We are looking to intensify our investment, having completed feasibility studies of several projects and we seek to expand in the hospitality sector in other countries as well, such as Spain, Bosnia, the UAE, Morocco, Niger and Sudan,” said Dr Johar.

This year, Retaj will open Retaj Suites Musheireb, Retaj Al Rawdah, and Retaj Salawa Road and Vichy Spa, all in Doha. Bahrain’s capital Manama will also welcome Retaj Al Rayyan and Retaj Al Rayyan Djibouti will open doors in the African republic this year.

Retaj Hotels & Hospitality continues its expansion plans modern Arabian hospitality at its core and will sign new contracts very soon. The company now has hotels in Asia, Africa and Europe, in addition to the future expansion in the Gulf region, especially in Oman and the UAE.
