ekar brings the concept of carshare to Dubai in partnership with RTA

Ekar, the hourly car rental concept launches 100 carshare vehicles across the emirate of Dubai in partnership with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). Focused on easy access, half of the ekar fleet is designated around the Dubai Metro stations (Metro Cars) whilst the other half within popular areas of the city (City Cars) including, JLT, Dubai Silicon Oasis, The Green Community and Academic City among others.

ekar uses state-of-the-art instant reservations and smart access technology, providing a network of vehicles for hourly on-demand rental in the UAE.
 
The company enables users to easily discover and book available cars via the mobile app and website providing a cost-effective alternative to daily and monthly rentals by offering a pay-by-the-hour pricing scheme.
Rated by Forbes magazine as the most promising start-up of 2016, the concept delivers on-demand mobility while leaving a small environmental footprint, for every carshare in operation, 17 privately owned cars are off the road. ekars can be booked for a minimum of 10 minutes each day to a maximum of six hours. Once the journey is complete, the vehicle can be dropped off either to the same spot or another designated ekar station in the city for only an additional cost of $1.6. All ekars come equipped with Bluetooth connectivity.
