Mövenpick Hotel and Resort Beirut played host to the Miss Europe 2002 contestants. "The charming ladies with vivid smiles ornamented all corners of the resort. the ladies light spirit and determined demeanor, truly portrayed an energy to be enjoyed by everyone surrounding them," said Frank Reichenbach, general manager of the resort. The contestants used the hotels facilities and joined guests for lunch and dinner. They later posed for photographs. Miss Europe 2002 was won by Svetlana Koroleva from Russia. She took over from 2001 winner, Elodie Gossuin of France. Mövenpick hotels and resorts is a Swiss-based company and operates 45 hotels in 11 countries.
