AVIANET has launched a cloud computing service specifically tailored to the needs, requirements and considerations of airlines and aviation companies. The bespoke service branded as A-Cloud will provide substantial cost benefits to airlines as the need for in-house IT infrastructure, expertise and upkeep is minimised, while security of data is strictly maintained.
Cloud computing allows companies to avoid upfront infrastructure costs, expensive technical maintenance, and only pay for the services they use and demand, which can be upgraded or downgraded easily and as required. To provide its A-Cloud service, Avianet has established a strategic collaboration with Verizon and will leverage Verizon’s Enterprise Cloud technology, an infrastructure-as-a-service offering comprised of connectivity, processing power, and storage. The Verizon service enables customers to efficiently and securely manage on-demand computing resources while paying only for the resources consumed.
