THE Sofitel Bahrain Zallaq Thalassa Sea & Spa, known for its pristine beaches and the GCC’s first thalassotherapy complex has seen a significant improvement in occupancy and rates for 2012, against the same period in 2011.

The hotel’s crowning glory, the 2,000-sq-m spa complex features 14 treatment rooms using offering seawater hydrotherapy, massages, and wellness programmes. Facilities include a seawater hydrotherapy pool, a freshwater pool, saunas, steam rooms and a yoga studio, Pilates room and meditation area. A specialised dietitian will be dedicated to advise general body condition; body mass index and tailor-made fitness programs. An on-site specialised dietician is also available to offer tailor-made fitness programmes.
The property offers 262 rooms and suites including 21 Prestige Suites and six rooftop Opera Suites individually themed in distinctive variations of Moroccan, Nubian, Turkish, Gulf Arabic, Indian and Levant designs, each with adjoining private terrace and infinity pool. The Royal Suite is one of a kind in the Kingdom with 500 sq m space, 24 hour butler service and private terrace with infinity pool and Jacuzzi. Guests staying at the 32 Club Rooms will also have access to its Club Millesime Lounge. Sofitel Bahrain also features a business centre, meeting rooms and banquet facilities, which can accommodate up to 1,000 guests featuring top-of-the-range audio and video equipment. Diners can chose from five specialty restaurants and four bars for different culinary experiences including the Saraya, all day dining restaurant, Pashawat for Arabic cuisine, Wok for its authentic South East Asian cuisine, Fiamma for fresh pasta and antipasti, La Mer for the best culinary delights of the sea and the Tapas Bar for its cocktails and tapas. The hotel’s bars include the Cocktail Bar, Pool Bar and Lobby Lounge. Also available to complement the hotel’s offering is the Macaron Pastry shop.
