Treston appointed at The Address
Emaar Hospitality Group has appointed Antony Treston as general manager of The Address Dubai Marina.  Treston moves from Aman New Delhi, where he was the general manager and part of the pre-opening team. He was also general manager of Mount Juliet Conrad, Ireland.

 

 

 

 

Nierhaus joins Atlas Hospitality
Siegfried Nierhaus has taken over the role of managing director for Atlas Hospitality. Nierhaus was previously with the Rezidor Hotel Group as the region’s director of future openings. Prior to that, he opened and managed the Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Media City.

 

 

 

Media Rotana welcomes Haddad
Asaad Haddad has been appointed assistant director of food and beverage at the  Media Rotana Dubai. Until recently he was assistant food and beverage manager at the Yas Rotana, after joining the company in 2009 with the pre-opening team.

 

 

 

 

Tapken promoted at City Seasons
Thomas Tapken joined the City Seasons Group last year as general manager overseeing the operations of four existing properties.  Now, he has been promoted to managing director with more emphasis on business development and the acquisition of new properties.

 

 

 

 

Khalil joins Mövenpick Bahrain
Mövenpick Hotel Bahrain has appointed Essa Khalil as information technology manager. He was previously assistant IT manager at Sheraton Bahrain Hotel. He holds diplomas in accounting and IT from NIIT Institute, New Horizon Institute and Cornell University.

 

 

 

Simmons joins Millennium
The Millennium Hotel Abu Dhabi has appointed Paul Simmons as director of sales. Simmons has more than 22 years experience in international hotels and travel agencies.

 

 

 

 

Sharaton Doha welcomes Nabil
Sheraton Doha Resort & Convention Hotel has announced the appointment of Khaled Nabil as director of sales and marketing.
Nabil has been in the hospitality industry for more than 22 years, most recently with Sheraton Dammam in Saudi Arabia where he held the same position.

 

 

 

 

Lotfy takes charge at Tulip
Golden Tulip Hotels, Inns & Resorts has announced the appointment of Tarek Lotfy as hotel manager for Tulip Inn Al Sharia, Al Rhaba, Abu Dhabi. Lotfy also holds the position of regional revenue director for Golden Tulip Mena. He has a wealth of experience with Le Meridien and Forte Hotels.

 

 

 

 

 

Marriott Doha welcomes Udo
The Doha Marriott Hotel has appointed Laurence Udo as public relations and marketing communications manager. Udo spent the last five years in London, working as marketing manager for Marriott Vacation Club.

 

 

 

 

Dusit appoints Kobos
Dusit International Hotels & Resorts Group has appointed Jiri Kobos as managing director of Dusit Thani LakeView Cairo Hotel. Kobos was previously general manager with the Hyatt Corporation worldwide and for various Grand Hyatt properties.

 

 

 

 

Kumar joins Sheraton Deira
Pravin Kumar has joined Sheraton Deira Hotel, as the new food and beverage manager.
He previously held the same position with the pre-opening team at the Grand Mauritian, Mauritius.

 

 

 

 

 

Fries takes charge at Fairmont
Fairmont Bab Al Bahr, Abu Dhabi, has appointed Henning Fries as general manager. Fries first joined Fairmont in 1987. He rejoins from his recent position as regional director, UAE for Refad Hotels & Resorts and general manager of the Monarch Dubai.

 

 

 

 

 

Bahrain move for Kiragu
Evelyne Kiragu joins Crowne Plaza Bahrain as events manager in charge of the convention sales team. She is a graduate of the Swiss Hotel Management School and joined IHG as a management trainee with the Crowne Plaza Dubai in 2005.

 

 

 

 

 

Amadeus expands UAE team
Amadeus Gulf has announced the appointment of Shafeekh Azeez (pictured) as director of sales for Dubai and Northern Emirates and Jauhar Abdul Gafoor as sales manager for Abu Dhabi.

 

 

 

 

 

Al Shamsi promoted
Etihad Airways has announced the appointment of Ali Abdulla Al Shamsi as  general manager of Abu Dhabi Hub at Abu Dhabi International Airport. Al Shamsi has worked in the airline industry for more than 23 years – including positions with Emirates and Gulf Air.
